The primary worksite is Wake Forest, with periodic travel to Chantilly as needed. This role supports day-to-day people operations with a focus on engagement, compliance, and organizational effectiveness, partnering closely with managers and employees.

Responsibilities
- Provide HR support to assigned locations and act as a resource to managers and employees for routine HR matters
- Support employee relations activities, including responding to employee inquiries and supporting performance management processes
- Assist recruiting efforts by posting job openings, scheduling interviews, coordinating candidate communications, and supporting onboarding activities
- Help with compensation and benefits administration, including responding to employee questions and supporting open enrollment processes
- Support employee engagement initiatives and contribute to HR projects to help ensure timely and effective execution
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree (or equivalent) in a related field
- 2+ years related experience
- Previous experience working as an HR Generalist
- Knowledge and understanding of U.S. labor and employment laws, including compliance with federal and state employment laws and regulations
- Knowledge of current practices in the administration of HR policies, including HRIS, training and development, benefits, compensation administration, performance review processes, performance management, succession planning, proactive employee relations, issue investigation and resolution, and talent acquisition
- Sound judgement and problem-solving skills
- Customer focused attitude with high level of professionalism and discretion, maintaining confidentiality
- Excellent communicator with all levels of staff and management, verbally and in writing
- Willingness to organize effectively, initiate and prioritize work, and provide solutions without regular supervision
