Job Description

Steel & Metal Systems, a growing manufacturing company based in Blackshear, GA, is seeking an experienced Human Resource Generalist to join our onsite team. In this hands-on role, you will manage core HR functions—from recruiting and onboarding to benefits administration and policy implementation—within a collaborative work environment. This position supports leadership and staff as part of our commitment to a positive, productive workplace culture.

Responsibilities

Administer day-to-day human resources functions, including payroll coordination, benefits administration, and leave management.
Support recruitment efforts: posting job openings, screening candidates, scheduling interviews, and onboarding new hires.
Maintain personnel files and HR documentation in compliance with federal and state regulations.
Serve as the first point of contact for employee questions and concerns, promoting positive employee relations.
Assist in the development, communication, and enforcement of company policies and procedures.
Ensure compliance with labor laws, EEO, FMLA, OSHA, and other applicable regulations.
Partner with management to address performance, training, and employee development needs.
Support annual performance reviews and assist with employee engagement initiatives.

Requirements

3+ years of experience in Human Resources
Knowledge of HR laws, regulations, benefit administration, recruiting, and best practices
Proficiency with HRIS (such as Paycor, Workday, ADP) and strong Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, Outlook)
Strong interpersonal, organizational, and problem-solving skills
Ability to maintain confidentiality and handle sensitive information with discretion
