Human Resource Generalist

Steel & Metal Systems, a growing manufacturing company based in Blackshear, GA, is seeking an experienced Human Resource Generalist to join our onsite team. In this hands-on role, you will manage core HR functions—from recruiting and onboarding to benefits administration and policy implementation—within a collaborative work environment. This position supports leadership and staff as part of our commitment to a positive, productive workplace culture.

Responsibilities

• Administer day-to-day human resources functions, including payroll coordination, benefits administration, and leave management.
• Support recruitment efforts: posting job openings, screening candidates, scheduling interviews, and onboarding new hires.
• Maintain personnel files and HR documentation in compliance with federal and state regulations.
• Serve as the first point of contact for employee questions and concerns, promoting positive employee relations.
• Assist in the development, communication, and enforcement of company policies and procedures.
• Ensure compliance with labor laws, EEO, FMLA, OSHA, and other applicable regulations.
• Partner with management to address performance, training, and employee development needs.
• Support annual performance reviews and assist with employee engagement initiatives.

Requirements

• 3+ years of experience in Human Resources
• Knowledge of HR laws, regulations, benefit administration, recruiting, and best practices
• Proficiency with HRIS (such as Paycor, Workday, ADP) and strong Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, Outlook)
• Strong interpersonal, organizational, and problem-solving skills
• Ability to maintain confidentiality and handle sensitive information with discretion
