Responsibilities
- Process weekly payroll and related tax filings
- Maintain accuracy of employee and employer deductions within the payroll system
- Prepare and distribute year-end documents such as W-2s
- Schedule random DOT drug and alcohol testing through the occupational health provider
- Coordinate with third party HR resources for annual or bi-annual audits
- Partner with EHS to determine annual work injury and illness data for OSHA reporting
- Develop policies and programs that support a positive work environment and minimize employee relations issues
- Ensure required training is completed, including ongoing sessions to reinforce culture and teamwork
- Develop and maintain comprehensive policies that meet organizational and employee needs and ensure understanding and compliance
- Maintain accurate documentation of activities, decisions, and process changes
- Maintain current employee files with required documentation
- Research compensation benchmarks to inform salary structures and pay bands
- Submit all business expenses weekly through the expense management system
- Administer annual open enrollment with the insurance broker, reviewing current and future benefit offerings for compliance
- Audit and reconcile monthly insurance invoices for accuracy
- Coordinate and process insurance invoice payments in a timely and accurate manner
- Ensure PTO and sick time accruals and rollovers are accurately maintained
- Update carrier systems promptly for compensation and benefit changes
- Coordinate onboarding for new hires, including completion of required new hire paperwork
- Manage recruiting activities including posting openings on Indeed, reviewing applications, and coordinating candidate screening and interviews
- Collaborate with Kirkpatrick Creative to approve marketing and recruitment materials
- Assist in planning and hosting employee engagement events
- Coach and support supervisors on HR focuses such as recruitment, onboarding, succession planning, employee development, and performance management
- Support managers in addressing performance issues with proper documentation and progressive discipline processes
- Receive, investigate, and resolve employee relations issues, provide findings and recommendations, and coordinate with CEO and legal counsel as needed
- Manage the performance management program, including annual reviews and merit planning
- Work with third-party administrators on leaves of absence, disability, workersβ compensation, and unemployment claims; may represent the company in hearings or disputes
- Support workforce planning and employee transitions, including hires, transfers, and exits
- Maintain detailed and up-to-date documentation of procedures and workflows
- Update and maintain the employee handbook as needed
- Coordinate employee gatherings such as holiday party, Cinco de Mayo, employee appreciation, and outings
Requirements
- 3-5 years of HR experience with knowledge of current Federal and State employment laws and regulations, including compensation, benefits, EEO, and employee relations
- Experience with payroll and HRIS systems
- Proven ability to manage multiple tasks and priorities and adapt to changing circumstances
- Experience leading people and achieving results through others, with strong verbal and written communication skills
- Proficient in MS Office products, including Excel, PowerPoint, and Word

Terms of Employment
- FSLA Status: Exempt
- This is an in-person 12-month position, Monday through Friday
- Occasional extended hours, including evenings or weekends, may be required to meet business needs; flexibility is essential
