Hutco, Inc. is hiring a Marine Shipyard Recruiter / Site Coordinator to support marine shipyard workforce needs in Harvey, LA. In this onsite role, you will recruit and onboard skilled trade professionals while serving as the primary point of contact for both employees and clients. You will also help coordinate day-to-day site workforce operations and reporting.
Based in Harvey, LA, this position offers an hourly rate of USD 22 and requires 3+ years of recruiting experience.
Role Summary
As the Marine Shipyard Recruiter / Site Coordinator, you will manage full-cycle recruiting for skilled trades, verify candidate qualifications, and ensure smooth onboarding and compliance for new hires. You will be the go-to contact for workforce needs, site check-ins, and urgent on-the-job support.
Responsibilities
- Recruit, screen, and qualify skilled trade professionals, including welders, fitters, electricians, pipefitters, riggers, and marine joiners
- Own the full-cycle recruitment process
- Screen resumes, conduct interviews, and verify certifications and work history
- Handle onboarding tasks including insurance, compliance, and new hire paperwork
- Maintain talent pipelines and build strong relationships with candidates
- Provide outstanding customer service as the main point of contact for workforce needs and concerns
- Meet and check in new employees at the job site on their start date
- Respond to employee injuries on the job site and provide transportation as needed
- Make supply runs as needed to support field operations
- Collaborate with internal teams to meet client staffing needs
- Prepare weekly employment reports and support team goals
Requirements
- 3+ years of recruiting experience in an industrial, marine, or skilled trades environment (shipyard experience preferred)
- Knowledge of shipyard crafts
- Goal-oriented, self-driven, energetic, and resilient with strong interpersonal skills
- Comfort working in sales, customer service, or similar people-focused environments
- Proficiency in time management and computer skills, including Microsoft Office and ATS
- Reliable personal vehicle and a valid driver’s license required for site visits, employee transport, and supply runs (mileage reimbursed)
- Comfort spending time at active shipyard and industrial worksites rather than only in an office setting
- Bilingual English/Spanish is a plus

Schedule
- Monday to Friday, standard 8-hour shift
