Job Description

The Human Resources Generalist role at Southern Packaging, based in Port Allen, Louisiana, is an onsite position focused on core HR functions, payroll processing, and administrative support to ensure accurate pay, compliant HR processes, and organized operations.

Responsibilities

Support onboarding and offboarding activities for employees
Maintain up-to-date, confidential personnel records
Assist with benefits administration and respond to employee inquiries
Contribute to the development and enforcement of HR policies and procedures
Administer payroll on a regular schedule
Ensure precise calculation of wages, overtime, and deductions
Keep payroll records accurate and resolve discrepancies
Coordinate with accounting and finance for reporting and audits
Stay informed about payroll regulations and tax requirements
Manage HR documentation, filing systems, and reporting processes
Support scheduling, internal communications, and general office coordination
Assist leadership with ad hoc administrative tasks
Identify and implement process improvements to enhance efficiency and accuracy

Requirements

2+ years of experience in HR, payroll, or administrative roles
Working knowledge of payroll systems and HR practices
Strong attention to detail and organizational skills
Proficiency in Microsoft Office, especially Excel, and HR/payroll software
Ability to handle sensitive information with discretion
