The Director of Human Resources supports Flatrock Motorclub’s leadership team by overseeing recruitment, payroll compliance, risk management, safety initiatives, and administration of employee health, retirement, and other benefit programs. This role also administers core HR systems, personnel policies, employee records, training resources, performance appraisal processes, and employment law compliance.

Role Overview
In this full-time, exempt position, you assist club management with day-to-day personnel administration while coordinating policy implementation, employment documentation, safety engagement, and HR reporting. The role includes managing organizational planning tools, supporting employee relations processes, and ensuring ongoing compliance with federal and state requirements.
Responsibilities
- Manage the club’s personnel program, including the development and implementation of applicable policies and procedures.
- Process labor staffing reports and coordinate software applications used to generate required information.
- Develop and place recruitment ads and social media messages; plan recruitment strategies; screen applicants; process employment applications; verify references; make hiring recommendations; coordinate required correspondence and forms.
- Conduct preliminary employment interviews.
- Ensure new hires complete required employment forms and confirm authorization to work in the United States.
- Provide general property orientation for new employees and support development and implementation of inter-department orientation and training programs.
- Develop and maintain a position-specific library of training resources.
- Coordinate, monitor, and recommend improvements to the employee performance appraisal system.
- Coordinate employee record-keeping functions in accordance with federal and state requirements.
- Stay current on employment laws and regulations, ensure compliance, and advise club managers as needed.
- Schedule and conduct club-wide employee safety meetings.
- Maintain OSHA-related logs and reports as required by law.
- Continuously review and assist with updates to the employee handbook and personnel-related policies, and support management of the progressive discipline program.
- Manage the club’s group insurance program and communicate benefits information to staff.
- Lead special HR projects related to job description and specification updates, performance appraisal improvements, wage and salary comparison surveys, long-range staff planning, and other personnel issues.
- Partner with the General Manager and department heads to investigate employee violations of club policies and recommend corrective actions when necessary.
- Interact with the club’s attorney on personnel legal issues.
- Create and maintain organizational charts.
- Work with payroll personnel to ensure all new employee forms are completed.
- Oversee work-related injury claims to support integrity, ongoing case management, and reporting compliance.
Requirements
- Broad knowledge and experience in employment law, compensation, organizational planning and development, employee relations, safety, and training.
- Excellent written and oral communication skills.
- Proven ability to collaborate with club staff and participate effectively on the executive management team.
- Ability to work with a high level of confidentiality.
- Knowledge of, and ability to perform required responsibilities during emergency situations.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and HR system applications.
- Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources or related field (or equivalent experience).
- Minimum 5 years of experience in HR positions; 5 to 8 years diversified HR experience is preferred, with hospitality industry experience as a plus.
