Job Description

Hennessey Performance is hiring a Human Resources & Payroll Specialist to support day-to-day HR administration and payroll across the employee lifecycle. This onsite role in Sealy, TX focuses on accurate, timely payroll processing, maintaining employee records, and coordinating key onboarding and offboarding activities while supporting HR and HCM systems.

Working at the headquarters location, you will own core payroll tasks, help manage HR documentation, and contribute to process improvements as the organization transitions to new Human Capital Management (HCM) systems.

Role overview

Provide day-to-day administration of core HR processes and payroll from hire through termination.
Own payroll processing activities and maintain employee records within payroll and HR systems.
Support benefits and leave administration, including required documentation.
Coordinate onboarding and offboarding processes.

Responsibilities

Process bi-weekly payroll accurately and on time.
Review time records, payroll changes, and bonus payments.
Maintain payroll records and support year-end payroll activities.
Run payroll in QuickBooks in the interim while transitioning to a new Payroll and HCM system(s).
Support payroll questions and resolve discrepancies.
Process new hires, promotions, transfers, pay changes, and terminations.
Maintain accurate employee records and HR documentation within payroll and HR systems.
Prepare employment documents and maintain employee files.
Support implementation of a new HCM system by assisting with employee data validation, payroll testing, and process improvements.
Serve as a key HR resource for the HCM system by helping maintain system accuracy, supporting end users, and continuously improving HR and payroll processes after implementation.
Administer benefits enrollments and qualifying life events.
Administer leave programs and maintain required documentation.
Assist with employee relations matters and policy administration.
May support workers' compensation and other HR programs as needed.
Prepare employment verifications and other HR documentation.
Assist with HR communications and HR/company policy generation.
Support HR projects and continuous improvement initiatives.

Requirements

2+ years of direct payroll processing experience independently processing payroll.
Experience directly supporting core HR administration/HR operations.
Experience maintaining employee records.
Experience using Payroll/HRIS/HCM systems.
Strong attention to detail and ability to maintain confidentiality.
Ownership mindset, ability to follow through, and comfort working in a fast-paced environment with shifting priorities.
Organized approach with ability to manage multiple priorities.
Clear, professional communication verbally and in writing.
Proficiency in Microsoft Office, especially Excel.
