Job Description

Join The Assurance Group in Wharton, NJ for an onsite Human Resources leadership role within a manufacturing environment. This position offers a competitive salary of USD 85,000 to 95,000 per year, plus health insurance and paid time off, all within a collaborative culture that values compliance, development, and strong client-candidate relationships.

Responsibilities

Oversee the staffing cycle from talent sourcing and interviewing through onboarding and structured offboarding
Handle employee relations matters, including workplace concerns, conflicts, investigations, and resolutions
Ensure compliance with local, state, and federal employment laws and regulations
Process and administer bi-weekly payroll for hourly and salaried staff using Paychex
Maintain accurate, confidential employee records, including benefit plan data, personnel transactions, I-9s, and government-reporting statistics
Administer enrollment in life, medical, dental, and 401(k) benefit programs
Provide guidance to employees and managers on policies, procedures, and HR programs
Keep organized and confidential personnel files
Coordinate social and ethical audits as required
Track employee hours, vacation requests, and changes to personal information via Paychex
Participate in HR meetings, trainings, and seminars to stay compliant and develop professionally
Manage accident claims, FMLA paperwork, disability paperwork, and related documentation
Perform other related duties as assigned

Requirements

Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources or a related field
Experience in HR management or a similar leadership role
Background in contract packaging or a manufacturing setting strongly preferred
Proficiency with Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook)
Strong verbal and written communication skills
Excellent organizational, problem-solving, and follow-up abilities
Working knowledge of applicable state and federal employment laws
Experience using Paychex
Spanish language ability is a plus
