Job Description

Join The Assurance Group in Wharton, NJ for an onsite Human Resources leadership role within a manufacturing environment. This position offers a competitive salary of USD 85,000 to 95,000 per year, plus health insurance and paid time off, all within a collaborative culture that values compliance, development, and strong client-candidate relationships.

Responsibilities

  • Oversee the staffing cycle from talent sourcing and interviewing through onboarding and structured offboarding
  • Handle employee relations matters, including workplace concerns, conflicts, investigations, and resolutions
  • Ensure compliance with local, state, and federal employment laws and regulations
  • Process and administer bi-weekly payroll for hourly and salaried staff using Paychex
  • Maintain accurate, confidential employee records, including benefit plan data, personnel transactions, I-9s, and government-reporting statistics
  • Administer enrollment in life, medical, dental, and 401(k) benefit programs
  • Provide guidance to employees and managers on policies, procedures, and HR programs
  • Keep organized and confidential personnel files
  • Coordinate social and ethical audits as required
  • Track employee hours, vacation requests, and changes to personal information via Paychex
  • Participate in HR meetings, trainings, and seminars to stay compliant and develop professionally
  • Manage accident claims, FMLA paperwork, disability paperwork, and related documentation
  • Perform other related duties as assigned

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources or a related field
  • Experience in HR management or a similar leadership role
  • Background in contract packaging or a manufacturing setting strongly preferred
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook)
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills
  • Excellent organizational, problem-solving, and follow-up abilities
  • Working knowledge of applicable state and federal employment laws
  • Experience using Paychex
  • Spanish language ability is a plus
