The Human Resource Manager for Vibrant Arena at The MARK plays a central role in shaping a positive venue culture while delivering an excellent employee experience. This onsite position in Moline, IL leads core HR functions including talent acquisition, regulatory compliance, performance management, and employee relations to support day-to-day operations.
Key Responsibilities
- Design and implement strategic HR plans aligned to organizational goals and focused on strengthening venue culture.
- Lead talent acquisition by sourcing candidates, conducting interviews, and onboarding team members to build a high-performing workforce.
- Oversee employee orientation to support smooth onboarding and engagement from day one.
- Manage performance management activities, including employee evaluations, coaching, and development initiatives.
- Administer benefits programs and manage payroll processing using Sage 100 alongside Novatime/Ascentis Time & Attendance.
- Support HRIS administration using potential platforms such as Oracle HCM, ADP, UltiPro, or PeopleSoft to maintain data accuracy and compliance.
- Handle employee relations matters by mediating conflicts, conducting misconduct investigations, and maintaining open communication channels.
- Ensure compliance with employment and labor regulations, including FMLA (Family and Medical Leave Act), OSHA standards, and Workers' Compensation policies, along with other HR legal requirements.
- Drive HR sourcing improvements through innovative recruitment strategies and process enhancements to reach diverse talent pools.
- Support HR legal compliance management, including contracts, employment law adherence, and EEO (Equal Employment Opportunity) policies.
- Contribute to change management by facilitating organizational design adjustments and supporting succession planning for growth.
Required Qualifications
- Proven supervisory experience leading HR teams in a fast-paced environment focused on entertainment and venue management.
- Extensive background in talent management, recruiting, employee relations, and performance management.
- Experience managing HR systems for data collection and analysis, including Oracle HCM, UltiPro, Taleo, or PeopleSoft.
- Familiarity with payroll and time/attendance tools, including Sage 100 and Ascentis.
- Strong negotiation skills, including managing complex employment contracts and benefits negotiations.
- Experience conducting employee misconduct investigations with a focus on confidentiality and fairness.
- Knowledge of employment and labor law regulations, including OSHA standards and FMLA requirements.
- Strength in strategic planning, process improvement, conflict management, and program management to optimize HR functions.
- Excellent communication skills to present HR initiatives to senior leadership and engage employees at all levels.
- Familiarity with HR compliance tools such as ADP or UltiPro for payroll processing and benefits administration.
- Demonstrated familiarity with governmental regulations within Illinois.
