Hofstra University is seeking an on-site HR Services Administrator to provide tier-one HR support for designated client groups in Hempstead, NY.
Responsibilities
- Collaborate with the Lead HR Client Service Administrator to enhance departmental efficiency through effective daily HR service delivery.
- Process personnel transactions in the HRIS for designated client groups, including new appointments, promotions, reappointments, salary and title changes, and terminations.
- Prepare, generate, and distribute appointment and employment-related letters and documentation.
- Initiate and manage the new hire onboarding process, maintain personnel files, monitor onboarding stages, and confirm completion of required employment documents.
- Conduct new hire orientation sessions and assist employees with onboarding questions and procedures.
- Support HR operational projects through coordination, follow-up, and timely execution of assigned tasks and timelines.
- Deliver high quality service to designated client groups by ensuring timely resolution of HR issues and requests.
- Assist with student employment data entry, including payroll transactions.
- Provide backup for pre-employment background checks, ensuring timely submission to the ADP system, monitoring checks in progress, issuing clearances, and following up with candidates and hiring managers.
- Maintain strict confidentiality and ensure compliance with University policies and HR procedures.
- Provide back-up reception/front desk coverage as needed.
- Perform related duties as assigned.
Requirements
- Bachelorβs degree or equivalent required.
- 1-2 years of related administrative, HR, operations, or customer service experience.
- Ability to maintain the highest level of confidentiality and diplomacy, with a professional, customer-service oriented, flexible approach.
- Ability to present information clearly and concisely.
- Exceptional attention to detail and a meticulous approach to accuracy in every task.
- Ability to work independently with limited supervision and as part of a productive team.
- Strong interpersonal, diplomatic, communication, and listening skills.
- Proven ability to multi-task and manage competing priorities.
- Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office, specifically Word, Excel, Visio, and PowerPoint.

Salary
Salary: $58,500 - $60,000 per year

Hofstra University provides the above salary as a good faith estimate of the starting pay range, considering factors such as the scope and responsibilities of the position, and the candidate's experience and education.
