The Town of Exeter is seeking a full-time Human Resources Generalist to support essential people operations across multiple departments. This onsite role in Exeter, NH focuses on day-to-day HR administration, helping ensure accurate payroll processing, smooth onboarding, and well-maintained employee records.
Working within the Town’s HR function, you will coordinate time entry, act as a key point of contact for onboarding and benefits, and assist with recruiting support. The position also includes maintaining HR updates through the HR website and managing HR workflows using MUNIS HR software.
Key Responsibilities
- Process accurate time entry to support payroll
- Serve as the primary contact for employee onboarding and benefit programs
- Assist with recruitment activities
- Update employee records and the human resources website
- Manage the MUNIS HR software program
Required Qualifications
- Associate’s degree in Human Resources or a related field
- Five or more years of experience in an HR setting, or a combination of education and related experience
- Strong interpersonal skills
- High accuracy with strong attention to detail
- Excellent communication abilities
- Ability to maintain strict confidentiality and exercise discretion in sensitive situations
- Knowledge of MS Office, including Word and Excel required
- Experience with MUNIS software and union contracts is a plus

Compensation and Benefits
Hiring range: $61,781 to $65,543 per year. The position is Grade 8 within the Town compensation plan.
