Job Description

Location: Lahaina, Hawaii (onsite) • Pay: USD 3,595 per hour

This on-site Human Resources Generalist role supports HR operations, recruitment, onboarding, payroll, and records management for a property in Lahaina. You will collaborate with management and the HR team to address HR issues, maintain accurate records, and ensure compliant, efficient processes across hiring, orientation, and data reporting.

Responsibilities

Support management and the leadership team in addressing and resolving HR related issues.
Assist employees with internal and external transfer requests and procedures.
Monitor and assist managers and supervisors with hiring processes and issues.
Coordinate and conduct applicant drug screens, reference checks, background checks, motor vehicle checks, and social security number verification.
Maintain applicant flow, drug screen, orientation and transfer request logs.
Create and maintain new hire and personnel files and enter them into the HR information systems.
Assist with orientation of new employees.
Monitor all hiring and recruitment processes for compliance with local, state, and federal laws and company policies and standards.
Ensure accurate maintenance of all employee records and files (e.g., interview documents, I-9s).
Support processing and maintenance of payroll records in accordance with policies and procedures, as necessary.
Inform HR management of issues related to employee relations within the division or property.
Create and maintain filing systems.
Generate HR data reports as necessary.
Answer phone calls and record messages.
Create and type office correspondence using a computer.
Serve as an HR subject matter expert and participate on project teams.
Train new hires on HR processes, programs, policies, information systems, and related topics.
Follow all company policies and procedures; maintain professional appearance and confidentiality of proprietary information.
Communicate clearly and professionally; prepare and review written documents accurately; answer telephones with appropriate etiquette.
Develop and maintain positive working relationships; support team goals; listen and respond to employee concerns.
Move, lift, carry, push, pull, and place objects weighing up to 10 pounds without assistance.
Perform other reasonable job duties as requested by supervisors.

Requirements

Education: High school diploma or GED equivalent.
Experience: At least 1 year of related work experience.
Supervisory experience: None required.
Licenses or certifications: None.
