At Camp Pendleton, the Human Resources Generalist, NF-3, operates onsite to support Marine Corps Community Services HR operations. This role delivers technical guidance across classification, staffing, employee relations, benefits administration, and customer service, handling duties from drafting actions to managing benefits while ensuring compliance with applicable policies.
Location: Oceanside, CA (onsite). Salary: USD 47,840 - 54,080 per year. Experience: Minimum 3 years.
Responsibilities
- Perform technical support work in one or more personnel specialties such as classification, staffing, employee relations, employee development, labor relations, and EEO.
- Gather facts involving routine disciplinary or work performance issues, discuss issues with managers and employees, and assist in drafting reprimands and disciplinary actions.
- Analyze jobs, apply grading criteria with standard patterns, and recommend classifications.
- Develop job vacancy announcements and review applicants for a variety of jobs, determining eligibility or evaluating qualifications according to established plans and procedures.
- Draft local procedural instructions relating to the functional specialty.
- Assist in administering the employee benefits program including Group Health, Dental & Life Insurance, 401(K) Savings Plan, Group Retirement Plan, Workersβ Compensation, FMLA, Leave Donations, and Casualty Assistance, plus the Employee Performance Awards Program.
- Process and maintain records necessary to implement and track benefit-related matters.
- Maintain a high degree of contact with employees and provide advice and assistance regarding employee benefit problems and issues.
- Conduct research and explain complicated benefit-related issues such as health benefits conversions and complex annuity calculations and information.
- Conduct orientation classes, briefings, and seminars.
- Review related rules, regulations, and internal instructions for comment.
- Explain rules and regulations to employees pertaining to assigned functions.
- Provide World Class Customer Service with an emphasis on courtesy, assisting customers and communicating positively in a friendly manner, and resolving problems promptly.
- Adhere to safety regulations and standards, use required safety equipment, and report hazards or injuries promptly; support EEO principles and prevention of sexual harassment.
- Perform other related duties as assigned.
Requirements
- A minimum of three years of human resources or administrative experience.
- Knowledge of Marine Corps NAF policies and procedures and MCCS experience is preferred.
- This is a white-collar position where occasional lifting up to 20 lbs may be required.
