Job Description

Hybrid, part-time role with flexible hours for an experienced HR professional at Surgical Specialists Group of Michigan. This position supports day-to-day people operations for a growing team, combining remote work with occasional on-site visits to the Metro Detroit offices in Saint Claire Shores, MI. Compensation is commensurate with experience.

What you’ll do

Manage employee onboarding and offboarding to keep transitions smooth and consistent.
Maintain employee personnel records and ensure HR documentation is accurate and up to date.
Support recruiting by assisting with job postings, interviews, and hiring activities.
Coordinate payroll-related changes, PTO, and employee benefits administration.
Administer and support employee performance evaluations and maintain disciplinary documentation.
Ensure compliance with employment laws, regulations, and company policies, maintaining documentation standards.
Assist management with employee relations and other HR matters as needed.
Maintain and update employee handbooks, policies, and procedures.
Coordinate employee training and required compliance documentation.
Partner with management on staffing needs and workforce planning.

What you bring

Minimum 3 years of HR experience preferred.
Experience in healthcare or medical practice HR strongly preferred.
Familiarity with Michigan employment laws and HR compliance requirements.
Experience using HRIS and payroll systems; Paylocity experience is a plus.
Excellent organization, communication, and confidentiality.
Ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
