What youโll do
- Assist in administering and implementing human resources programs at the facility
- Develop recruitment sources and methods
- Participate in recruitment activities and advise prospective applicants
- Schedule and conduct interviews; request certificates of eligible candidates
- Prepare requests for security clearances
- Assist in administering employee relations matters, including incentive awards, the performance evaluation program, and the leave administration program
- Help oversee the employee-management relations program to foster stable and cooperative relations between management and line staff
- Provide advisory services to a broad range of employees
- Advise timekeepers, employees, managers, and supervisors on leave regulations
- Maintain the security of the institution; staff correctional responsibilities precede other duties and are performed regularly

- Must be rated well-qualified, scoring at least half of the total possible points for the vacancy KSAs or competencies
- Submit documentation to support CTAP/ICTAP eligibility (agency notice, most recent performance appraisal, and most recent SF-50 showing current/former position, grade, promotion potential, and duty location)
- Complete all assessment questions to be rated under the ranking criteria
- Education: GL-07 requires one full year of graduate-level education or superior academic achievement; GL-09 requires a Masterโs degree or equivalent graduate degree or two full years of graduate study leading to such a degree, or LL.B/J.D if related
- Experience: GL-07/GL-09 require one year of specialized experience at the next lower grade level; examples include prioritizing tasks, knowledge of federal personnel principles, handling HR inquiries, maintaining logs/reports/tracking
- GL-09 also requires advising candidates on hiring practices and background security requirements for federal employment, knowledge of federal personnel programs, and the ability to manage multiple responsibilities independently
- Combination of education and experience is acceptable
