Job Description

The Florida Department of Corrections is seeking an on-site Human Resource Specialist - OPS in Tallahassee, FL, at $21 per hour, to handle background checks, policy compliance, and high-volume data entry.

Responsibilities

Conduct background screening and quality assurance for security applications.
Use Department systems including Excel, Word, SharePoint, FCIC/NCIC, and CCIS to support HR processes.
Provide detailed analysis of criminal records and other background data.
Organize and maintain personnel records to ensure accuracy and accessibility.
Research, collect, evaluate, and analyze data and present findings in written format.

Requirements

1 to 2 years of human resources experience in a fast-paced office environment.
Proficiency with Microsoft Office programs, including Word, Excel, Outlook, and PowerPoint.
Strong computer literacy and ability to use various applications.
Effective oral and written business communication skills.
Time management skills.
Ability to work independently.
Professional written and verbal business communication abilities.
Ability to interpret and apply rules and procedures.
Ability to understand and apply applicable rules, regulations, policies, and procedures related to HR program functions.
