Job Description

Express Employment Professionals in Cambridge, MD is seeking an experienced HR Coordinator to join our onsite team. In this role, you will support recruitment, onboarding, and training initiatives, oversee HR policy administration, and manage HRIS data for a staffing firm. The position emphasizes collaboration with department leaders to attract, develop, and retain a diverse, capable workforce while maintaining a positive and inclusive work environment.

Responsibilities

  • Assist in sourcing external data to benchmark compensation and benefits, keeping offerings competitive.
  • Support the preparation of materials for presentations to senior leadership.
  • Collaborate with department heads and staff to attract, develop, and retain a diverse, skilled workforce and foster an inclusive workplace.
  • Support job postings on relevant platforms and coordinate recruiting activities.
  • Develop proficiency with HRIS recruiting tools.
  • Assist in screening resumes for consistency and regulatory compliance.
  • Help manage application disposition within the HR system.
  • Provide guidance to supervisors, employees, and candidates, ensuring consistent application of employment practices, HR policies and procedures, and labor laws.
  • Assist in maintaining position description files.
  • Coordinate, develop, and deliver HR-related and policy training initiatives.
  • Assist with the development and execution of comprehensive onboarding programs.
  • Conduct new employee orientation sessions to acquaint hires with policies, benefits, and required government forms.
  • Maintain current and accurate employment records for employees.
  • Enter data into HRIS platforms as needed.
  • Coordinate and implement employee engagement events.
  • Search for qualified candidates using databases, networking, online resources, media ads, job fairs, recruiting firms, and employee referrals.
  • Review dispositioned resumes.
  • Research and propose enhanced employee benefits within budget constraints.
  • Assist with headcount and vacancy reporting.
  • Monitor hiring, turnover, and employee feedback initiatives.
  • Represent the organization professionally with integrity.
  • Comply with organizational policies and regulations.
  • Support special projects and assigned initiatives.
  • Stay current on HR industry trends and best practices.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

Requirements

  • Associate’s degree in Human Resources, Public Administration, Business Administration, or related field, with three years of HR experience, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Professional HR certification (e.g., SHRM-SCP, SPHR, SHRM-CP, or PHR) preferred.
  • Thorough understanding of federal, state, and local employment laws and regulations.
  • Excellent organizational and communication skills, both oral and written.
  • High proficiency with Microsoft Office applications (Outlook, Excel, Word, PowerPoint).
  • Strong problem-solving and decision-making abilities.
  • High level of integrity, ethics, and confidentiality.
  • Familiarity with Applicant Tracking Systems and HRIS.

Compensation

USD 19.00 - 22.00 per hour
