Job Description

Grower Direct Farms Inc is seeking a hands-on Human Resources Coordinator to support high-volume recruiting, onboarding, and HR operations for our greenhouse and field-based workforce. Reporting to the Head of Human Resources, this on-site role in Somers, CT focuses on getting talent hired, onboarded correctly, and supported throughout employment in a fast-paced agricultural environment.

Responsibilities

Post openings, screen candidates, and arrange interviews
Lead new-hire onboarding and orientation processes
Prepare and manage new hire documentation and personnel files
Ensure I-9 compliance and onboarding requirements are met
Maintain accurate employee records in ADP Workforce Now
Respond to HR questions from employees and supervisors on policies, benefits, and payroll support
Assist with offboarding and termination procedures
Support benefits enrollment during open enrollment periods
Oversee safety-related administrative tasks
Serve as the primary contact for injury reporting and tracking
Maintain documentation and ensure compliance with internal and regulatory requirements
Assist with payroll processing and coordination as needed
Support office operations during peak periods (phones, visitors, general admin tasks)

Requirements

2+ years of experience in HR coordination, recruiting, or onboarding
Current experience using ADP Workforce Now (or a similar HRIS/payroll system)
Bilingual English/Spanish is required
Strong organizational skills and attention to detail
