Job Description

Grower Direct Farms Inc is seeking a hands-on Human Resources Coordinator to support high-volume recruiting, onboarding, and HR operations for our greenhouse and field-based workforce. Reporting to the Head of Human Resources, this on-site role in Somers, CT focuses on getting talent hired, onboarded correctly, and supported throughout employment in a fast-paced agricultural environment.

Responsibilities

  • Post openings, screen candidates, and arrange interviews
  • Lead new-hire onboarding and orientation processes
  • Prepare and manage new hire documentation and personnel files
  • Ensure I-9 compliance and onboarding requirements are met
  • Maintain accurate employee records in ADP Workforce Now
  • Respond to HR questions from employees and supervisors on policies, benefits, and payroll support
  • Assist with offboarding and termination procedures
  • Support benefits enrollment during open enrollment periods
  • Oversee safety-related administrative tasks
  • Serve as the primary contact for injury reporting and tracking
  • Maintain documentation and ensure compliance with internal and regulatory requirements
  • Assist with payroll processing and coordination as needed
  • Support office operations during peak periods (phones, visitors, general admin tasks)

Requirements

  • 2+ years of experience in HR coordination, recruiting, or onboarding
  • Current experience using ADP Workforce Now (or a similar HRIS/payroll system)
  • Bilingual English/Spanish is required
  • Strong organizational skills and attention to detail
