Job Description

The Human Resources Generalist/Executive Support provides comprehensive HR services while also serving as an administrative liaison between the Chief Executive Officer and the Board of Directors for Desert Senita Community Health Center. This onsite role supports recruitment, onboarding, employee relations, benefits, compliance, payroll coordination, and executive and Board governance documentation.

Key Responsibilities

Coordinate the full-cycle recruitment process, including job posting, application screening, interview scheduling, initial candidate screenings, and coordination of hiring activities.
Prepare offer letters and employment documentation, and maintain applicant tracking records and recruitment metrics.
Support department managers with staffing needs and hiring strategies.
Coordinate new employee orientation and onboarding activities, ensuring completion of pre-employment requirements and facilitating new hire paperwork and system setup.
Coordinate employee training, compliance education, and professional development opportunities, while maintaining training records and certifications.
Assist employees with benefits enrollment, benefits changes, and benefits-related questions, including coordination of annual open enrollment and communication with benefit vendors.
Support payroll processing by reviewing employee changes, tracking timekeeping, and ensuring accurate payroll documentation; assist employees with payroll questions and wage-related inquiries.
Maintain personnel files and HRIS records with accuracy and confidentiality.
Provide administrative support to the Chief Executive Officer, including managing the CEO’s calendar, meetings, travel arrangements, and scheduling.
Prepare correspondence, reports, presentations, and executive communications, and coordinate special projects assigned by the CEO.
Maintain confidential executive files and sensitive organizational information.
Serve as the primary administrative liaison between the CEO and the Board of Directors, coordinating Board and committee meeting logistics and preparing Board packets, agendas, reports, and meeting materials.
Distribute Board communications and official notices, record and maintain Board meeting minutes, and maintain confidential Board records and corporate governance files as assigned.
Coordinate Board member onboarding and orientation materials.
Act as a resource for employees regarding workplace concerns, assisting with employee relations issues through coaching, mediation, and problem-solving, and supporting investigations involving employee complaints.
Promote a positive workplace culture centered on communication, respect, and teamwork.
Assist managers with performance evaluations, corrective actions, coaching, and employee development plans.

Required and Preferred Qualifications

Human resources experience: 3 years required.
Education: Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or a related field is preferred.
Experience: Three (3) years of Human Resources experience is preferred.
Additional experience: Experience supporting executive leadership or Board activities is a plus.
Knowledge: Knowledge of employment laws and HR best practices.
Skills: Strong organizational, communication, and interpersonal skills.
Tools: Proficiency in Microsoft Office and HRIS systems.
Confidentiality and pace: Ability to maintain confidentiality and manage multiple priorities.
Language: Bilingual in English/Spanish; Spanish is preferred.
