Responsibilities
- Coordinate, monitor, and process Full Scale, Wage Change, and special wage surveys used for Nonappropriated Fund wage setting.
- Travel to host activities to orient Local Wage Survey Committee and Installation Commanders; train local wage survey data collectors and review collected data.
- Advise the Local Wage Survey Committee on wage data forms for job matches, company acceptability, and internal job alignment; resolve procedural questions or problems.
- Analyze wage data, propose wage lines, and prepare exhibits for supervisor review.
- Occasionally handle complex and sensitive surveys requiring expert judgment to resolve conflicts with installation commands, unions, and private industry firms.
- Plan and conduct studies to improve wage setting practices and programs within the DCPAS Wage and Salary Division.
- Perform duties under minimal supervision; work is reviewed for policy conformance and application of guidelines.
- Make telephone contacts with establishments to explain the survey process, secure participation, and schedule appointments.
- May conduct on site, in depth interviews with private industry officials to obtain detailed wage data for Full Scale, Wage Change, and special surveys.
- Evaluate and reconcile data for comparability and accuracy.
- Record data and forward reports with interpretations and recommendations on acceptability and limitations.
Requirements
- Four year college degree or comparable work experience involving coordinating, monitoring and processing statistical data.
- Experience with public contact involving direct interviewing of executive personnel.
- Previous experience as a project officer.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills.
- One year of experience at the GS-11 or NF-3 level.
