Human Resource Coordinator
Job Description
Summary
The Plant Human Resources Coordinator manages daily Human Resources administration for the plant to support efficient completion of HR-related tasks. The role also supports, administers, and coordinates corporate HR programs and initiatives at the assigned location.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
- Support the recruitment and selection process by coordinating job postings, reviewing resumes, conducting phone screens, and performing reference checks.
- Handle hourly new hires and terminations, including preparing employee files and notifying Payroll. Provide support for onboarding activities and coordinate exit interviews for departing employees.
- Process personnel action forms (PAFs) for hourly employees, ensure required approvals are completed, and enter accurate information into the HRIS system.
- Respond to employee questions and explain company HR programs including recruitment and placement, salary and benefit administration, and employee relations.
- Update and verify hourly employee address and telephone changes.
- Process claims and related forms for statutory benefits, including STD, WC, and Unemployment Insurance, for hourly employees.
- Prepare time cards for hourly staff upon hire and when existing cards periodically expire.
- Issue office electronic access cards, replace lost cards, and collect returned cards from terminating employees.
- Process payroll on a bi-weekly schedule, including verifying hours worked in AS400 and ADP, reviewing payroll batch data, and obtaining final approvals to complete payroll on time.
- Type, duplicate, fax, and file letters, job descriptions, policies, forms, memoranda, and related materials.
- Maintain organized, accurate files and documentation for hourly employees to support confidentiality and compliance with applicable legal requirements.
- Maintain designated work spaces in a clean, safe, and timely manner in accordance with the plant THM/Safety policy.
- Participate in webinars, seminars, and other job-related training opportunities.
- Support, administer, and coordinate corporate HR programs and initiatives at the assigned location.
- Assist with HR projects and other job-related duties as directed.

Education and/or Experience
- Associate’s degree in Human Resources, Management, Business, or Psychology, or equivalent
- Or one to three years of related experience and/or training
- Or an equivalent combination of education and experience
Computer Skills
- Intermediate knowledge of MS Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook)
- Internet/Intranet experience
- HRIS experience preferred
Language Skills
- Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals
- Ability to write routine reports and correspondence
- Ability to speak effectively before groups of customers or employees of the organization
Reasoning Ability
- Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables where limited standardization exists
- Ability to interpret instructions in written, verbal, diagram, or schedule form
