Job Description

Situated in Charleston, West Virginia, the Office of Shared Administration seeks a Human Resources Generalist 1 to help shape classification and compensation programs across the state. This onsite role supports the design and upkeep of a comprehensive HR system, oversees hiring and pay processes, and provides policy guidance to ensure compliance for a broad slate of agencies. The compensation for this role ranges from USD 35,702 to USD 61,628 per year.

Responsibilities

Review applications to assess eligibility and assemble statewide hiring lists that connect candidates with mission-driven roles.
Verify compensation for new hires, promotions, and internal transfers aligns with established guidelines and rectify discrepancies when needed.
Conduct market analyses, examine trends, and collaborate with agencies to establish accurate job requirements.
Review job descriptions, perform audits, and provide expert classification guidance.
Serve as a trusted resource for field staff, delivering guidance and training on classification, compensation, and policy matters.
Collaborate with leadership to propose process improvements, boost efficiency, and ensure compliance.
Maintain the NEOGOV system, including managing access and updating position or classification information.
