Job Description
Situated in Charleston, West Virginia, the Office of Shared Administration seeks a Human Resources Generalist 1 to help shape classification and compensation programs across the state. This onsite role supports the design and upkeep of a comprehensive HR system, oversees hiring and pay processes, and provides policy guidance to ensure compliance for a broad slate of agencies. The compensation for this role ranges from USD 35,702 to USD 61,628 per year.
Responsibilities
- Review applications to assess eligibility and assemble statewide hiring lists that connect candidates with mission-driven roles.
- Verify compensation for new hires, promotions, and internal transfers aligns with established guidelines and rectify discrepancies when needed.
- Conduct market analyses, examine trends, and collaborate with agencies to establish accurate job requirements.
- Review job descriptions, perform audits, and provide expert classification guidance.
- Serve as a trusted resource for field staff, delivering guidance and training on classification, compensation, and policy matters.
- Collaborate with leadership to propose process improvements, boost efficiency, and ensure compliance.
- Maintain the NEOGOV system, including managing access and updating position or classification information.
