Human Resources Business Partner
Job Description
Based in East Syracuse, New York, Pinnacle Employee Services LLC is looking for a hands-on Human Resources Business Partner to serve as the main liaison among Pinnacle, client companies, and Worksite Employees. This onsite role centers on managing payroll, benefits, and HR support, with a salary range of $60,000 to $70,000 annually, and requires at least two years of experience along with a high school diploma or equivalent.
Responsibilities
- Handle routine inquiries from Worksite Employees about payroll, benefits, and HR matters independently, providing clear and timely information.
- Offer accurate guidance with urgency while maintaining a professional, friendly, and empathetic approach.
- Aim to resolve issues at first contact whenever feasible and escalate complex or sensitive cases to the appropriate Subject Matter Experts.
- Foster effective collaboration with internal teams and client representatives to support HR services.
- Process unemployment claims accurately and promptly, prioritizing the best interests of client companies, and attend hearings when required.
- Interpret payroll and HR policies and provide guidance to clients and Worksite Employees.
- Stay current on federal, state, and multi-state employment regulations and ensure labor law postings are present at client sites.
- Develop, maintain, and update employee handbooks and client policies; coordinate harassment prevention and workplace training.
- Lead workplace and harassment investigations in collaboration with clients and Worksite Employees.
- Coordinate additional training initiatives as requested by client companies and assist with workers’ compensation documentation for on-leave employees.
- Report workers’ compensation claims under the Master policy for clients and provide accurate benefit guidance and respond to related inquiries.
- Reprint and distribute payroll documents (pay stubs, W-2s, and other records) for current and former Worksite Employees.
- Maintain a minimum of five client touchpoints per week via virtual or in-person meetings and supply necessary forms and materials to client sites.
- Develop and maintain Excel spreadsheets to meet client needs and support the implementation of new policies and procedures.
- Learn and effectively utilize the PRISM HRIS system and participate in conferences and professional development to stay current with HR best practices.
- Perform additional duties and special projects as assigned by management.
Requirements
- Valid driver’s license is required due to travel to client sites.
- Read, write, and speak English proficiently.
- Driver's license is a must have.
