Human Resources Generalist

Experienced Human Resources Generalist needed to support the HR Manager at J&R Schugel Trucking, Inc. onsite in New Ulm, MN. Compensation: USD 19 - 22 per hour.

Responsibilities

• Administer FMLA, LOA, and employee accommodation processes in compliance with company policies and applicable laws.
• Conduct monthly driver performance reviews, communicate feedback, and support driver retention initiatives.
• Apply a strong understanding of employee benefits programs, enrollment processes, and benefit communications to assist employees.
• Coordinate benefit counselor appointments and assist employees with benefit questions, enrollment steps, qualifying life events, open enrollment, and available resources.
• Assist with wellness program administration, employee engagement activities, wellness campaign communications, and employee benefit education initiatives.
• Maintain knowledge of I-9 employment eligibility verification requirements and compliance tracking.
• Facilitate new hire and driver orientation programs.
• Process state separation notices and maintain personnel records.
• Manage independent contractor and company driver status changes, including completion and processing of required paperwork.
• Assist with EEO-1 data collection, reporting preparation, and record maintenance.
• Assist the HR Director with record requests, employment verifications, subpoenas, and other HR administrative functions.
• Post job openings internally and externally through designated recruiting platforms, conduct introductory candidate interviews, and coordinate the candidate selection process.
• Forward qualified resumes and interview feedback to hiring managers for review and consideration.
• Provide backup switchboard coverage and support departmental administrative needs.
• Maintain excellent organizational skills to manage multiple priorities while preserving accuracy and confidentiality.
• Perform other duties as assigned or directed by HR Director or leadership.

Requirements

• 1 year of Human Resources experience preferred.
