Human Resources Specialist
Job Description
Support HR services for employees and management at a credit union that values service and compliance.
Responsibilities
- Meet Shell FCU Service Commitments, including the Employee Creed and Service Distinctions
- Maintain knowledge of and follow all rules and regulations applicable to assigned duties, including the Bank Secrecy Act
- Attend annual training sessions as instructed or scheduled
- Perform HR duties in alignment with SFCU policies, procedures, philosophy, and performance standards
- Assist with payroll processing and ensure employee records, compensation data, and related information are accurate and current
- Support enrollment of eligible employees into applicable benefit plans within required deadlines
- Help maintain and process benefits billing
- Keep policies and compliance requirements up to date; support timely updates and distribution of policies to employees
- Proactively address employee questions, issues, and concerns, or bring items to management’s attention
- Act as a liaison to relevant vendors, ensuring communication and that vendor information, documentation, and records remain complete and accurate
- Educate and assist employees with benefits-related questions and approvals during open enrollment and throughout the year
- Coordinate with the Learning Department as needed to support employee development
- Provide friendly, welcoming assistance to employees
- Provide backup support to other HR team members to maintain smooth and consistent HR operations
- Perform additional duties as assigned
Requirements
- Minimum 2 years of related experience
- Basic knowledge and understanding of credit union philosophy and culture
- Ability to maintain confidentiality
- Consistently demonstrate a welcoming and helpful demeanor
- Use good judgment to recommend solutions in line with credit union standards, practices, policies, procedures, and applicable regulations or government laws
- Basic knowledge of all aspects of HR
- Practical approach to completing tasks and assignments
- Professional verbal communication skills
- Ability to work in an open-concept workspace/environment
- Ability to regularly bend and stand
- May occasionally lift, carry, and/or move up to 15 pounds
- Exposure to potential hazardous conditions including robbery
- Education: High school diploma or GED
Schedule
- Mon - Wed & Fri: 8:30am - 5:00pm
- Thu: 8:30am - 5:30pm
