People Operations Specialist
Job Description
Legora is building scalable people operations as the company expands globally. In this onsite role in New York, NY, you will execute and continuously improve People Ops processes across the employee lifecycle, partnering with People Tech, Payroll, Legal, and Finance to support operational excellence worldwide.
Compensation: USD 137,000 - 162,000 per year.
Responsibilities
- Execute and continuously improve core People Operations processes across the employee lifecycle with speed, accuracy, and attention to detail.
- Own day-to-day administration for onboarding, offboarding, employee changes, promotions, transfers, leave processes, and organizational updates.
- Prepare documentation and employee records, ensuring each process is completed accurately and on time.
- Maintain high-quality employee data and operational accuracy across all People processes.
- Build, document, and maintain scalable operating procedures, playbooks, and process documentation to enable consistent global execution.
- Coordinate People Operations activities across multiple stakeholders, countries, and time zones so work stays on track.
- Spot manual work, operational inefficiencies, and recurring issues, then propose and implement better ways of working.
- Partner with People Tech to improve operational workflows and prepare processes for automation, while keeping technical implementation with the People Tech team.
- Support international expansion, acquisitions, and organizational changes by executing operational People processes at pace.
- Help establish operational metrics, monitor service quality, and continuously raise the bar for operational excellence.
Requirements
- 5+ years of experience in People Operations, HR Operations, or HR Administration in a fast-growing company.
- Exceptional attention to detail, including enjoyment of getting operational specifics right.
- Strong administrative skills, including experience managing large volumes of employee lifecycle activities.
- Experience working with HR systems as a power user (not as a system administrator).
- Highly organized approach with excellent prioritization skills and ability to manage multiple deadlines.
- Comfort working in an environment where priorities change quickly while maintaining quality.
- A continuous improvement mindset focused on simplifying, standardizing, and improving operational processes.
- Strong written documentation skills to create clear, repeatable operational procedures.
- Ability to work independently with a high degree of ownership and accountability.
- Experience building agents or agentic workflows as part of People processes is a plus.
