Driver Recruiter

TMC Transportation is seeking a full-time Driver Recruiter in Des Moines, IA to support the hiring process for prospective drivers. In this onsite role, you will manage the candidate journey from initial outreach through screening, referrals, and coordination for applicants traveling to interview.

The position centers on identifying qualified talent, communicating clearly throughout the process, and helping candidates understand the organization and available job opportunities.

Role overview

Primary function: research, recruit, interview, screen, and refer candidates to help meet the essential qualifications of a prospective driver.

Key responsibilities

• Initiate contact with possible qualified candidates
• Review applications and conduct telephone interviews to gather work history, education, training, and job skills while providing information about the organization and position
• Assist with reference and background checks for applicants
• Provide information on company facilities and job opportunities to potential applicants
• Develop and maintain positive relationships with candidates
• Arrange travel and lodging for out-of-town applicants

Requirements

• 2 OR 4 year degree preferably in Transportation or Human Resource, or equivalent work experience
• Ability to function in a high-volume, fast-paced work environment and tolerate stress
• Ability to communicate clearly and persuasively to candidates at all levels
• Excellent interpersonal skills, including strong listening skills
• Courteous yet assertive telephone personality
• Fluency in Microsoft Office
• Previous experience in Driver Recruiting and Tenstreet ATS is a plus

Compensation and location

• Location: Des Moines, IA (onsite)
• Salary: USD 42,000 per year
• Minimum experience: 2 years
