Job Description

Employee Relations Business Partner supports program leaders by providing HR partnership, employee relations expertise, and guidance that helps build effective teams aligned with Bay Cove Human Services’ mission.

Responsibilities

  • Meet regularly with program VP leaders and their teams.
  • Provide HR guidance to support positive outcomes.
  • Analyze HR trends and metrics in partnership with the HR group to help design solutions, programs, and policies.
  • Manage and resolve complex employee relations issues, including conducting thorough, effective, and objective investigations.
  • Maintain up-to-date knowledge of legal requirements for day-to-day employee management to reduce legal risk and support regulatory compliance.
  • Partner with outside legal counsel as needed or required.
  • Support day-to-day performance management guidance for management, including coaching, counseling, career development, and disciplinary actions.
  • Collaborate with management and employees to strengthen work relationships, improve morale, and increase productivity and retention.
  • Provide HR policy guidance and interpretation.
  • Provide guidance and input on program restructures, workforce planning, and succession planning.
  • Identify training needs for programs and executive coaching needs for individuals.
  • Participate in evaluation and monitoring of training programs to confirm success and follow up to ensure training objectives are met.

Requirements

  • Minimum 8 years of experience resolving complex employee relations issues.
  • Bachelor’s degree preferred.
  • Working knowledge across multiple HR disciplines, including compensation practices, organizational diagnosis, employee and union relations, diversity, performance management, and federal and state employment laws.
  • Excellent interpersonal and customer service skills.
  • Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
  • Excellent emotional intelligence.
  • Strong influence skills and the ability to thoughtfully navigate difficult situations.
  • Ability to comprehend, interpret, and apply relevant laws, guidelines, regulations, ordinances, and policies.
  • Ability to develop a thorough understanding of organizational hierarchy, jobs, qualifications, compensation practices, and related administrative practices.
  • Excellent time management with a proven ability to meet deadlines.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Proficiency with Google Suite or related software.

Additional Information

  • Location: Boston, MA (hybrid), with 2 to 3 days onsite.
  • Position type: Exempt.
  • Salary: USD 100,000 - 110,000 per year.
