At TriHealth's Cincinnati campus, the Employee Relations focused role sits at the intersection of policy, people, and performance. This onsite position collaborates with regional leaders to interpret guidelines, investigate workplace concerns, and craft solutions that support retention, fairness, and a respectful environment. The role also emphasizes coaching, unemployment processes, and delivering targeted harassment prevention and diversity training.
Overview
This position provides employee relations consulting for assigned regions, partnering with leaders to interpret policies, conduct investigations, and resolve workplace issues. Key duties include coaching, retention planning, unemployment claim preparation, and delivering harassment prevention and diversity training.
Responsibilities
- Provide expert guidance on policies and procedures; counsel employees and managers on employee relations matters, ensuring correct interpretation and consistent application while allowing for appropriate judgment calls.
- Communicate clearly and effectively with stakeholders.
- Demonstrate service excellence by returning voicemails and emails by day’s end and resolving workplace issues in a timely manner, with a standard of 95% within five days.
- Stay informed about Employment Law and HR policy changes.
- Apply a problem-solving approach that balances employee and management needs, aiming for win‑win outcomes when possible.
- Address and resolve problems using sound judgment.
- Seek guidance from HR Leadership or Business Partner when appropriate to aid the problem-solving process.
- Conduct retention visits and develop retention plans when turnover or workplace issues appear troublesome.
- Prepare documentation and responses for unemployment compensation claims and attend unemployment hearings.
- Provide Harassment Free/Diversity Inclusive Workplace Education, Professionalism Training, and Workplace Violence education as needed to identified high-risk areas.
- Complete special projects as assigned.
- Rounding with regional leaders to build a trusting partnership.
- Coach leaders on performance counseling and performance evaluations.
- Identify trends within the assigned region and collaborate with the HRBP to present insights and initiatives to business unit leaders.
- Serve as the point person for investigations in the assigned region, including drug diversion and fitness-for-duty cases.
- Partner with the LOA team as needed to support team members in applying FMLA or ADA needs for staff and leaders.
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in human resources or a related field
- Knowledge of employment law
- 5-7 years of related experience

Job Overview
