Human Resources Coordinator
Job Description
The Minnesota Guardian ad Litem Program is seeking a Human Resources Coordinator to support HR data, systems, recruitment, benefits, leaves, payroll, and employee development across statewide operations.
Responsibilities
- Manage recruitment and selection activities and advise hiring managers on classification options, selection criteria, recruiting methods, candidate screening, interview questions, and reference checks.
- Counsel GALP staff, managers, and supervisors on human resources policies and procedures; research applicable employment laws and union contracts and provide guidance in line with all relevant rules, contracts, and guidelines.
- Investigate HR best practices and relay information and recommendations to the HR manager; document and review policies, propose improvements, and report on HR issues as needed.
- Oversee the performance review process and maintain an evaluation tracking system to ensure timely completions; answer questions, provide information to supervisors, and suggest process or training enhancements to the HR manager.
- Facilitate new employee orientation programs and participate on statewide committees focused on employee education and development when appropriate.
- Generate reports, troubleshoot HRIS systems, and assist GALP staff statewide with information for systems such as SEMA4 and Self-Service.
- Coordinate workers’ compensation claim filing, complete first reports of injury, conduct internal investigations, track claims, and communicate with health care providers, DOER, employees, and supervisors.
- Manage the safety program and perform ergonomic reviews of employee workstations.
- Coordinate employee benefits programs including open enrollment; prepare benefits information and orientation materials; answer benefits questions and resolve related issues; participate in statewide DDIR committees and related workgroups and task forces about benefits.
- Administer employee leaves, including FMLA, Minnesota Paid Leave, and short and long term leaves; collect and maintain confidential medical information; respond to questions from employees and supervisors about leave policies and programs.
- Promote and serve as a resource for diversity initiatives within the organization.
- Coordinate payroll and HR transaction functions for GALP employees.

Location
This is a hybrid role combining remote work with in person duties at the Minnesota Judicial Center in St. Paul, Minnesota.
Position Details
- Full-time, 1.0 FTE, unrepresented position
- Starting rate of $28.50 per hour
