Job Description
Champion Home Builders is seeking a motivated Plant HR Generalist to oversee daily HR operations and drive recruiting at its Titan Homes manufacturing site in Sangerfield, New York. This on-site role sits at the heart of people operations, handling onboarding, payroll, employee relations, benefits, and broader HR processes, with a compensation range of $70,000 to $80,000 per year.
Responsibilities
- Lead talent recruitment and retention efforts, focusing on non-exempt positions
- Develop and execute recruiting and onboarding plans, source candidates creatively, conduct interviews, manage pre-employment steps, and guide new hire orientations
- Maintain accurate employee records in the HRIS, including new hires, transfers, terminations, job classification changes, and paid time off tracking
- Perform data entry and assist with FMLA administration
- Support employee relations, facilitate company-wide events, and manage internal communications
- Administer benefits and maintain comprehensive records; handle unemployment claims
- Process payroll and uphold strict confidentiality of information
- Execute other related HR or administrative duties as required
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree or higher in Human Resource Management, Business, or a related field
- Minimum of 3 years of HR or related experience
- Strong knowledge of HR compliance areas including EEOC, FLSA, FMLA, and ADA
- Experience recruiting at all levels, using online and other sourcing tools, and managing applicant tracking systems
- Intermediate proficiency with MS Office (Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint); UKG HRIS familiarity preferred
- Excellent multi-tasking, organizational, and written and verbal communication skills
- Ability to handle sensitive information with discretion and maintain confidentiality
- Strong problem-solving skills with the ability to work independently and drive projects to completion
- Flexibility to work additional hours to meet deadlines and the ability to thrive in a team manufacturing environment
