Job Description

As a Human Resources Generalist at Lifeline Homecare Inc., you will support day-to-day HR operations across multiple regions, partnering with office staff and field CareGivers. The role serves as a central point of contact for employee relations, onboarding administration, regulatory compliance, credential tracking, and risk management, helping keep processes consistent and audit-ready.

This onsite position in Somerset, KY is designed for someone who can balance compliance requirements with practical support for a high-touch workforce, while keeping employee data and documentation accurate for inspections and internal quality checks.

What you’ll do

  • Ensure employment practices follow Federal and Kentucky state labor laws, including FMLA, ADA, FLSA, and relevant state homecare licensing requirements.
  • Oversee physical and digital employee records to maintain 100% audit-readiness for state inspections and internal reviews.
  • Manage tracking for required field credentials (for example: driver’s licenses, auto insurance, CPR certifications, background checks, and TB screenings) to support ongoing compliance across all regions.
  • Handle workplace injury claims, coordinating with insurance providers and partnering with regional leadership to reinforce safety protocols.
  • Act as an objective advisor for employee grievances, lead thorough internal investigations when needed, and recommend fair corrective actions.
  • Maintain and interpret corporate policies clearly, support updates to the CareGiver Handbook, and communicate policy changes to regional teams.
  • Design and monitor initiatives aimed at reducing CareGiver turnover and improving workforce morale across regional offices.
  • Oversee workflows for pre-employment background checks, registry verifications, and drug screening in partnership with regional offices.
  • Maintain accurate employee profiles, status changes, and licensure data in company systems such as Caresmartz360 and other HRIS platforms.
  • Manage exit procedures, analyze turnover trends across counties, and share findings with the CHRO to support retention efforts.
  • Provide general clerical support for the CHRO and corporate leadership, including scanning, filing, shredding, and drafting routine correspondence.
  • Greet visitors, answer incoming corporate calls, and route inquiries to the appropriate department or regional lead.
  • Handle incoming and outgoing mail and coordinate larger mailings, such as annual benefits information or employee policy updates.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or a related field (required).
  • 2–4 years of progressive HR experience; prior exposure to healthcare, home care, or a high-volume hourly workforce is strongly preferred.
  • SHRM-CP or PHR certification is a plus.
  • Strong understanding of employment law, with exceptional conflict-resolution, organization, and communication skills.
  • Ability to handle confidential information with strict discretion.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook) and familiarity with digital HR platforms; EVV scheduling system experience such as Caresmartz360 is preferred.

Compensation and benefits

Salary: USD 40,000 - 50,000 per year.
