Job Description

Glendale Community College seeks a confidential Human Resources Generalist to oversee recruitment, onboarding, HRIS data management, employee relations, policy and CBA guidance, and labor/negotiation support. Salary range is USD 6,362 to 7,016 per month.

Responsibilities

  • Handle a range of technical HR duties including recruitment, onboarding, and maintaining employment-related information to support HR operations and programs.
  • Manage full-cycle recruitment and onboarding: review position requisitions, coordinate with the hiring manager or designee, post vacancies, assist applicants, screen and qualify candidates, coordinate hiring committee activities, verify qualifications and references, extend job offers, and prepare employment transactions.
  • Explain HR policies and procedures and provide general information on employment matters, including administration of the collective bargaining agreement.
  • Process employment transactions and update employee data in HRIS and other office software; assist employees with navigating HR software for recruitment, evaluation, and related employment matters.
  • Compile and track employment information for new and existing staff, including tuberculosis assessments, I-9s, evaluations, and related reports.
  • Create and maintain confidential HR records, including materials in preparation for District labor negotiations.
  • Assist in developing and revising HR procedures, forms, and systems; recommend improvements and modifications.
  • Participate in reviewing and revising job descriptions to ensure proper classification standards and up-to-date duties.
  • Analyze requests for reclassification, out-of-class changes, or compensation equity reviews, and provide input as needed.
  • Conduct information gathering, including intake interviews related to employment-based complaints, summarize findings, and synthesize information.
  • Support the resolution of union grievances through issue research and remedy implementation.
  • Assist with implementing negotiated MOUs and CBA provisions.
  • Advise managers and employees on HR policy and CBA requirements, including District interpretation guidance.
  • Support managers in evaluating employees and fostering effective performance management practices.
  • Contribute to the development and delivery of training materials and presentations.
  • May provide work direction to lower-level staff, temporary employees, and/or student workers.
  • Perform other related duties as assigned.
