Glendale Unified School District is seeking a Senior Human Resources Analyst to support the Classified Human Resources Office in areas including position classification, compensation, recruiting and examinations, and employee relations. This on-site, full-time role in Glendale, California offers a competitive hourly salary range of $39 to $53 and district-paid benefits for both the employee and dependents. The position emphasizes in-person collaboration across district offices to ensure effective personnel processes and policy interpretation.
Responsibilities
- Update classification descriptions after field audits and review of case folders and reports.
- Conduct job analyses and propose entrance qualifications and fields of competition for new and revised classes.
- Oversee the design, administration, and scoring of performance examinations and physical ability tests.
- Design examinations, define test types and sequences, create and curate test items and tasks, and manage examination materials.
- Coordinate appraisal interviews, train committee members on procedures, and guide interviewers to ensure reliability, fair competition, and eligibility standards.
- Analyze examination results and perform statistical analyses.
- Collect and analyze data for ongoing test validation; collaborate with other public agencies to enhance reliability and validity.
- Consult with administrators, staff and community representatives in meetings and via correspondence and phone regarding classification, compensation, policies and personnel transactions.
- Draft and review personnel rules; interpret policies on appointments, promotions, demotions, transfers, dismissals, resignations, layoffs, reemployment, leaves of absence, within-class compensation, job analysis and performance evaluations; participate in revisions of personnel regulations.
- Advise prospective applicants by phone, email or in person about district career opportunities and employment policies and procedures.
- Occasionally attend meetings, trainings and conferences at other agencies to participate in examination processes.
- May visit district schools and offices for personnel activities such as job analysis and test administration.
- May supervise updates to the district's organizational charts.
- May drive to sites within and outside the district to conduct work, participate in workshops, trainings, interview panels and meetings.
- Assist with compliance of all state and federal programs.
- Perform other related duties as assigned.
