Human Resources Manager/Director
Job Description
West River Health Services is seeking an experienced senior human resources leader to oversee all HR functions onsite in Hettinger, North Dakota. Reporting to the CEO with direct access to the executive team, this hands-on role includes supervising the HR staff.
Position Summary
The final title for this role will be HR Manager or HR Director, determined by the candidate’s qualifications and depth of experience. This is a full-scope, hands-on leadership position with direct CEO access, oversight of HR support staff, and ownership of all human resources functions across the organization.
Responsibilities
- Direct employee relations, investigations, disciplinary actions, and terminations
- Lead full-cycle recruitment with emphasis on clinical, technical, and hard-to-fill roles
- Ensure compliance with federal and state employment laws (ADA, FMLA, FLSA, Title VII) and applicable CMS/HIPAA requirements
- Administer compensation structures and benefits programs; support market benchmarking initiatives
- Provide managers with tools and guidance for performance management and corrective action
- Oversee HR operations including onboarding, offboarding, HRIS data integrity, and employee records
- Serve as a strategic adviser to the CEO and senior leadership on workforce and culture matters
- Supervise and develop HR support staff
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or related field, or equivalent experience
- Minimum of 3 years of progressively responsible HR experience, including at least 2 years in a leadership or management role
- Working knowledge of federal employment law and multi-function HR operations
- Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to collaborate with both clinical and non-clinical staff at all levels

Compensation
Salary range: USD 68,000 to USD 120,000 per year
