Job Description

Hybrid People Operations Generalist supporting StepOne Neurodiversity Services with employee lifecycle administration, HRIS and data management, benefits administration, and cross‑department collaboration to scale people practices.

Responsibilities

  • Conduct background screenings for new hires and ongoing compliance needs
  • Oversee onboarding and offboarding for all staff, including clinical and administrative roles
  • Maintain accurate employee records in HRIS and align data with clinical systems such as CentralReach
  • Coordinate background checks, child abuse clearances, and state specific compliance documentation (PA CPSL, Act 33/34/73, with additions as needed)
  • Monitor credentials, licenses, and certifications (RBT, BCBA, CPR/BLS) and manage expirations and renewals
  • Update employee status and compensation across HRIS, payroll, and practice management systems
  • Coordinate onboarding requirements tied to client service delivery, including training, supervision assignments, and system access
  • Process terminations promptly, including payer roster removals, access deactivation, and documentation compliance
  • Collaborate with clinical leadership to ensure staff meet service delivery requirements such as supervision ratios and training compliance
  • Maintain audit‑ready documentation to support payer, state, and accreditation reviews
  • Administer and maintain accurate HRIS data, including ADP Workforce Now, across modules
  • Utilize and support ADP modules: Core HR, Payroll, Time & Attendance, Benefits, and Reporting
  • Process employee changes within ADP, including hires, terminations, pay updates, and status changes
  • Ensure data integrity across systems with regular audits and reconciliation between HRIS, payroll, and practice management systems
  • Partner with payroll to ensure seamless data flow and accurate payroll processing
  • Generate standard and ad hoc ADP reports to support HR, finance, and operations
  • Support system configurations, workflows, and process improvements for efficiency and scalability
  • Troubleshoot HRIS issues and serve as primary contact for system access and functionality questions
  • Document HRIS processes, user guides, and best practices to support training and consistency
  • Perform regular ADP Workforce Now data audits to ensure accuracy and compliance
  • Administer benefits enrollment and changes, including new hires, qualifying life events, and annual open enrollment; reconcile eligibility and deductions
  • Serve as first point of contact for HR inquiries and provide guidance on policies, benefits, payroll, and employment questions; escalate when needed
  • Assist employees with HR systems navigation and training to ensure a smooth experience
  • Coordinate cross‑functional communication regarding employee changes, including onboarding, offboarding, promotions, transfers, and compensation updates
  • Collaborate with HR, Payroll, Finance, Operations, and leadership to disseminate information in a timely manner
  • Lead communication workflows to keep stakeholders informed of changes affecting systems, reporting, access, and status
  • Identify and address communication gaps; implement standardized processes for clarity and efficiency
  • Ensure HRIS updates align with downstream impacts on payroll, benefits, compliance, and reporting
  • Maintain documentation of communication protocols and support continuous improvement of cross‑department processes
  • Act as a central liaison to resolve data discrepancies and ensure consistent messaging across teams
  • Manage contractor documentation with customers to ensure all agreements, credentials, and compliance materials are current and complete

Requirements

  • 2 to 5 years of experience in HR, people operations, including lifecycle administration, HRIS and data management, cross‑functional communication, and benefits support
  • ADP Workforce Now experience required
  • Strong attention to detail
  • Ability to manage high‑volume work and standardize processes for efficiency

Compensation

Salary range: USD 50,000 - 65,000 per year

Location and Schedule

  • Hybrid work arrangement in Pittsburgh, PA 15203 requiring three in‑office days per week and two remote days

  • Reports to senior leadership
