Job Description

Cavco Manufacturing LLC is hiring a People Operations Specialist to serve as an HR subject matter expert supporting attraction, development, and retention of talent. In this onsite role in Seguin, TX, you will help operations teams stay aligned with company policies and government regulations while partnering on core people processes, from staffing to employee relations and training.

What you’ll do

  • Identify and track staffing needs for the business and proactively support hiring through internal and external recruiting, succession planning, and retention practices
  • Partner with operations management to maintain positive employee and labor relations, including managing local employee relations processes
  • Manage the end-to-end hiring workflow, including creating requisitions, recruiting and candidate selection, preparing employment offers, and conducting new hire orientations
  • Ensure candidate backgrounds, education, and references are verified prior to hiring decisions
  • Conduct exit interviews and monitor activities related to departing employees
  • Provide oversight for compliance with company rules and policies and applicable government regulations
  • Investigate employee relations issues and allegations of policy or rule violations
  • Coordinate employee training and development, engagement, and retention activities for assigned operations
  • Counsel and assist management with employee discipline, improvement plans, and termination hearings or meetings
  • Follow all company and OSHA rules and regulations at all times, including wearing proper safety equipment while on plant grounds
  • Meet or exceed company safety standards and perform other assigned responsibilities

What you bring

  • Bachelor’s degree preferred or an equivalent combination of education and/or experience
  • 4 years of Human Resources experience
  • Bilingual is a plus
  • Deep knowledge of Human Resources Generalist functions
  • Knowledge of Labor Relations fundamentals preferred
  • Strategic decision making and tactical human resources experience
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills, including presentations to small and large groups
  • Proficiency with a personal computer, including Word, Excel, and PowerPoint
  • Analytical thinking and a problem-solving approach to identify best solution(s)
  • Team collaboration skills across regions and functions
  • Strong ethics and high compliance to institutional policies and standards
  • Strong sense of urgency and customer service
  • Ability to manage multiple issues at one time
  • Valid state driver’s license
  • Ability to maintain a clean and insurable driving record throughout employment per company vehicle insurance standards

Working conditions and schedule

  • Ability to work extended hours as necessary
  • Capability to work in an industrial manufacturing environment with noise exposure, temperature fluctuations, and exposure to weather elements when required
  • Ability to work all hours, including early mornings, nights, and weekends

Physical requirements

  • Ability to physically perform essential job functions
  • Requires walking and sitting to a significant degree
  • Occasionally exerting up to 20 pounds of force, and/or negligible force frequently
  • Sitting for most of the time, with brief periods of walking or standing
  • Regular requirement to talk and hear to communicate with employees and visitors
