Substitute Family Educator/Recruiter

SEK-CAP, Inc. is seeking a Substitute Family Educator/Recruiter to deliver home-based education and family engagement services during periods when regular educators are unavailable. The position also supports the recruitment of eligible families for Early Head Start and Head Start programs, with travel between locations using an agency-provided vehicle.

Role Overview

This full-time, onsite role in Girard, KS combines weekly home visiting with family support, program recruitment, and documentation responsibilities. The successful candidate will work directly with families to strengthen learning experiences at home and help connect them to needed community resources.

Key Responsibilities

• Conduct weekly home visits to support parents in providing developmentally appropriate learning activities.
• Assist families in setting and achieving goals related to self-sufficiency.
• Recruit eligible families for Early Head Start and Head Start programs.
• Complete applications and verify eligibility documentation.
• Maintain child assessments and family progress records in agency systems.
• Collaborate with community partners to connect families with available resources.
• Plan and facilitate group socializations and parent engagement activities.

Qualifications

• Associate or Bachelor’s degree in Early Childhood or a related field (preferred).
• CDA credential, or willingness to obtain within 6 months.
• Ability to obtain Home Visitation Training within the first year.
• CPR/First Aid certification within 30 days.
• Valid driver’s license and ability to meet agency insurance guidelines.

Pay and Work Schedule

• Pay: $16.65 to $19.00 per hour
• Job type: Full-time

• Schedule: Monday–Friday
