Job Description

The Advancement Talent Acquisition Manager leads key HR and recruiting operations that support Brown University’s Division of Advancement. This hybrid role is responsible for managing inclusive and equitable searches, building recruiting pipelines for current and future roles, and partnering with University HR and stakeholders to support hiring decisions.

Role Overview

Reporting to the Executive Director of Talent and Resource Management, the Advancement Talent Acquisition Manager oversees HR and related operational functions with a focus on guiding the Division of Advancement recruiting strategy and program. The position administers inclusive and equitable searches and contributes to recruitment planning for both exempt and nonexempt roles.

Key Responsibilities

  • Oversee key HR and related operational functions and help guide the Division of Advancement recruiting strategy and program.
  • Conduct inclusive and equitable searches by identifying networks, building diverse candidate pools, and supporting hiring decisions for Advancement stakeholders.
  • Develop and execute customized sourcing and recruiting strategies to generate pipelines of qualified candidates for current and future exempt and nonexempt roles.
  • Collaborate with the Executive Director to support continuous improvement through monitoring industry trends and developing best practices and recruitment toolkits for hiring managers.
  • Align recruitment activities with University standards and policies by working closely with University HR (UHR) partners.

Required Qualifications

  • Ability to develop and implement creative approaches to staffing needs using multiple platforms, including technology-based solutions.
  • Ability to design talent acquisition protocols, apply behavioral interviewing and selection process techniques, and transfer that knowledge to others.
  • Demonstrated experience using an ATS and strong HR technology and office computer skills.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills, including the ability to interact with senior administration and high-profile alumni.
  • Strong relationship-building skills, including diplomacy and experience designing and implementing complex plans.
  • Proficiency with MS Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint) and the Google suite of tools, including experience with web and email technology, database use, and the ability to learn new technology quickly.
  • Ability to present effectively to small and large groups.
  • Experience using sourcing tools such as job boards, social media, or resume databases, including the ability to create reports and analyze findings.
  • Excellent project management skills, including launching searches, working with search stakeholders, and collaborating with the Talent Management team.
  • Strong organization with attention to detail.
  • Knowledge of state and federal employment laws and the ability to apply employment law principles appropriately.
  • Ability to work collaboratively in a team environment with listening skills, responsiveness, and reciprocity that support departmental and division success.
  • High professionalism with ethical sensitivity and discretion, including a commitment to confidentiality.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience in a fundraising or development office.
  • LinkedIn Recruiter certification and/or experience.
  • Familiarity with AI-powered recruitment tools.

Work Location and Schedule

  • Hybrid position based in Providence, RI.
  • Minimum of 2 days per week in the office.
  • Full time position with 37.5 scheduled weekly hours.
  • Worker type: Employee; Worker sub-type: Regular.

Education and Experience

  • Bachelor’s degree required or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Minimum of 4 years of experience in recruitment, human resources, or a related field such as staffing.
