Custodial Trainer / Recruiting Assistant

This full-time 1st shift Custodial Trainer and Recruiting Assistant role supports janitorial team performance through hands-on training and ongoing coaching, while also assisting with hiring needs as they arise. The position is based in Walled Lake, MI with travel to surrounding locations as needed for training, recruiting, and employee support.

Role Overview

The Custodial Trainer / Recruiting Assistant will train new and existing custodial employees, provide follow-up support to help staff succeed, and assist with recruiting activities. During periods of increased hiring demand, the role steps in as additional recruiting and hiring support in coordination with Operations.

Key Responsibilities

• Train new and existing janitorial employees on cleaning procedures, equipment, safety, and company expectations.
• Provide coaching, follow-up, and support to help employees succeed.
• Assist with recruiting tasks, including candidate screening, interviews, and job fairs.
• Serve as recruiting and hiring support during periods of increased hiring needs.
• Partner with Operations to identify training and staffing needs.
• Travel between locations as needed for training, recruiting, and employee support.

Required Qualifications

• Janitorial, custodial, housekeeping, or facilities experience.
• Training, coaching, supervisory, recruiting, or hiring experience.
• Strong communication and people skills.
• Organized, dependable, and comfortable working independently.
• Professional and approachable with the ability to motivate others.
• Valid driver’s license and own reliable transportation (paid mileage and drive time).
