Job Description

The Director of Human Resources serves as a hands-on operational leader for full delivery of HR services across the community. Based in Clinton, SC with onsite work, the role oversees day-to-day HR operations while partnering with department leaders to support staffing, engagement, and retention.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead and execute day-to-day HR operations, including employee relations, recruitment, onboarding, and offboarding.
  • Manage full-cycle recruiting, including interviewing, hiring, and workforce planning to meet staffing needs.
  • Provide direct, hands-on employee relations support by coaching managers, conducting investigations, and resolving employee concerns promptly.
  • Ensure ongoing compliance with federal, state, and local employment laws by maintaining accurate documentation and HR practices.
  • Oversee benefits administration, coordinate payroll, and support compensation practices.
  • Support performance management processes, including coaching and implementing corrective action when needed.
  • Maintain HR systems, employee records, and reporting to ensure data accuracy and compliance.
  • Partner with department leaders on staffing, engagement, and retention strategies.
  • Lead onboarding and orientation to support a strong employee experience from day one.
  • Plan and support employee engagement activities that strengthen morale and teamwork.

Required Qualifications

  • Education: Associate’s degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or related field; Bachelor’s preferred.
  • Experience: Minimum 3 years of progressive HR experience; preferably in healthcare, senior living, or a similar environment.
  • Demonstrated capability to manage both strategic priorities and hands-on HR execution.
  • Strong employee relations background, including experience handling sensitive issues and conflict resolution.
  • Working knowledge of employment laws and HR best practices.
  • Strong organizational skills with attention to detail.
  • Ability to build trust and maintain confidentiality.
  • Comfort working in a fast-paced, people-focused environment with shifting priorities.
