Human Resource Generalist - Senior
Job Description
Senior Human Resource Generalist providing comprehensive HR support to Miners' Colfax Medical Center in Raton, NM, onsite, including payroll, benefits, recruitment, and related administrative duties.
Responsibilities
- Manage compensation and classification actions in line with State Personnel Board rules, DFA regulations, and applicable state and federal statutes and guidelines.
- Administer employee discipline in accordance with policy and regulations.
- Collaborate with the HR Manager to review and update current recruitment workflows.
- Develop strategies to recruit and retain staff.
- Create comprehensive recruitment programs for the agency.
- Liaise with unions on related matters.
- Receive, track, and process workers' compensation claims.
- Recruit for career-status roles, including physicians and Advanced Practice Providers.
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in any field plus one year of experience in HR operations such as recruitment, payroll, compensation and benefits administration, labor relations, investigations, HR-related training, and/or occupational analysis.
- Any combination of education from an accredited college or university and/or direct experience totaling five years may substitute for the required education and experience.

How does it get done?
The incumbent will make decisions on daily HR activities, including processing compensation and classification actions in accordance with State Personnel Board rules, DFA regulations, and applicable statutes. They will administer discipline, partner with the HR Manager to revise recruitment processes, develop recruitment strategies and programs, collaborate with unions on related issues, manage workers' comp claims intake, and recruit for career-status roles as well as physicians and Advanced Practice Providers.

Minimum Qualifications
- Bachelor's Degree in any field and one year of HR operations experience, including recruitment, payroll, compensation and benefits administration, labor relations, investigations, HR-related training, and/or occupational analysis.
- Alternatively, five years of combined education and direct HR experience from an accredited institution may substitute for the stated education and experience.

Must successfully pass a background check.
Working Conditions
Work is performed in a hospital setting with long hours of sitting and computer use, plus bending, walking, and phone use.
