Human Resource Professional

We are seeking a proactive Human Resource Professional to support the State of Kansas - Hutchinson Correctional Fclty, assisting the Kansas Department for Children and Families with daily HR operations, comprehensive employee lifecycle support, and benefits administration in a hybrid Kansas City, KS setting. The role emphasizes regulatory compliance and fosters a productive work environment through general personnel support.

Responsibilities

• Oversee day-to-day human resources operations
• Support the entire employee lifecycle from onboarding through offboarding
• Administer personnel programs and related initiatives
• Manage benefits administration and related transactions
• Process employee transactions accurately and timely
• Provide general personnel support across teams
• Promote a positive and productive work environment
• Ensure legal and regulatory compliance across HR activities

Requirements

• Minimum of one year of experience in planning, directing, organizing, managing, or administering personnel or human resources functions
• Education may be substituted for experience as determined relevant by the agency
• Valid Driver’s License
• Security clearance: a comprehensive background check (KBI criminal background, welfare fraud, driver’s license check, and Child/Adult Abuse and Neglect Central Registry) is required for all positions with the Department for Children and Families, potentially including fingerprinting and FBI checks; clearance must be obtained prior to employment and maintained throughout employment
• Kansas Tax Clearance Certificate: a valid certificate is a condition of employment; applicants offered a State job must obtain clearance within ten days via the Kansas Department of Revenue
• Experience in human resources: 1 year (Required)
• If a driver’s license is required for the position, applicants must submit a copy to the recruiter after interviews

Compensation

Pay rate is $18.26 per hour, equating to $37,980.90 annually. The final salary may depend on the candidate’s qualifications and experience.

Post Offer, Pre-Employment Requirements

• Security clearance as described above is required before employment
• Maintain security clearance throughout tenure

Kansas Tax Clearance Certificate

A valid Kansas Tax Clearance Certificate is required for employment. Applicants offered a formal job offer must obtain the clearance within ten days via the Kansas Department of Revenue, which reviews individual accounts for compliance with Kansas tax law.
