Job Description

Provide administrative support for institutional HR operations, partnering with the Human Resources manager and/or warden in support of payroll, benefits, and record management.

Responsibilities

  • Work closely with the Human Resources manager and/or warden to ensure weekly follow-up for missing time and to confirm required institutional staff are enrolled and trained in KRONOS
  • Ensure accurate payment related to employee separations and suspensions
  • Submit personnel advice forms, employee files, and applicable documentation to the central office in accordance with the payroll cutoff schedule
  • Provide administrative support for daily needs and assignments, including formal document preparation, event planning, receiving incoming calls, completing business office duties, preparing reports, and other tasks as needed
  • Support institutional staff with HR inquiries involving payroll, benefits, leave, attendance, recruiting, and employment matters while maintaining discretion and confidentiality
  • Assist with record management by maintaining accurate personnel, medical, and leave records through regular filing, auditing employee files during separation, and processing leave statements and other required reports/files
  • Serve as backup to the HR manager to assist with HR duties such as recruiting, job posting, employment processes, organizational chart updates, employee relations, exit interviews, conducting interviews, new hire orientation, employee corrective action (ECA), benefits, and other HR-related tasks as assigned
  • Perform other administrative and HR duties as assigned

Requirements

  • Must successfully complete four (4) weeks of SCDC Basic Training upon hire
  • High school diploma and administrative experience
  • A bachelor’s degree may be substituted for required work experience
  • A bachelor’s degree may be substituted for required program experience

Salary

  • USD 45,000 - 47,000 per year
