Human Resources Business Partner
Job Description
Based in Washington, DC, Gensler is seeking a seasoned Human Resources Business Partner to support the Southeast Region from the DC office. This strategic role partners with studio and office leadership to deliver HR, talent management, and development services, shaping people programs that align with business goals. The position offers a salary range of USD 110,000 to 150,000 per year and requires a bachelor’s degree with substantial HR experience.
Responsibilities
- Serve as a strategic advisor to studio and office leaders, aligning HR initiatives with the organization’s goals and delivering forward-looking insights to influence outcomes
- Manage the full employee lifecycle from onboarding through engagement, development, exit, and retirement to ensure a seamless, high-quality experience
- Act as a trusted advisor to leadership on talent management, role alignment, compensation and rewards, HR policies and procedures, and related HR functions
- Oversee talent needs assessment and fill roles with top internal or external candidates through strategic workforce planning
- Coordinate global mobility activities, including transfers, relocations, and visa processing, while ensuring regulatory compliance
- Utilize HR analytics, reporting, and metrics to provide actionable insights and inform data-driven talent decisions aligned with business priorities
- Monitor talent trends to anticipate challenges and proactively propose strategies to enhance workforce effectiveness
- Collaborate with leadership to design and implement performance management tools, succession planning frameworks, and proactive staff development initiatives
- Work with the Talent Development team to create and deliver innovative training programs and career development opportunities
- Partner with HR colleagues to elevate HR practices and programs, fostering continuous improvement and forward-thinking solutions
- Coordinate with shared services to deliver best-in-class people solutions, ensuring efficient, employee-centric HR processes aligned with organizational goals
- Support leadership in cultivating a culture of engagement, recognition, and belonging where employees feel valued
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources or a related field
- 10+ years of HR experience, including at least 3 years in a management capacity
- Solid knowledge of employment law and compliance regulations at federal, state, and local levels
- Strong organizational skills with keen attention to detail
- Proven ability to deliver timely results and manage multiple priorities in a dynamic environment
- Ability to work independently and maintain productivity within a matrix organization
- Effective communication and presentation skills, comfortable addressing individuals and groups
- Customer-service orientation and a collaborative approach to building relationships
