Job Description

Based onsite in Waupun, Wisconsin, Eagle Flexible Packaging is seeking a Human Resources Generalist to manage the full employee lifecycle, with a strong focus on recruiting as the business scales. This role collaborates with managers across departments to attract, onboard, and support talent while handling HR operations, benefits administration, and compliance. The position offers a salary range of USD 50,000 to 75,000 per year.

Responsibilities

  • Oversee end-to-end recruitment for both hourly and salaried positions.
  • Source candidates, screen applicants, and coordinate interview processes.
  • Collaborate with hiring managers on selection decisions and compensation guidance.
  • Lead onboarding and orientation for new hires.
  • Maintain recruiting tools and candidate pipelines.
  • Manage new-hire onboarding sessions and paperwork.
  • Serve as the first point of contact for employee questions and concerns.
  • Support and document employee relations matters, including investigations as needed.
  • Conduct exit interviews and identify trends.
  • Plan and implement employee engagement initiatives and events.
  • Partner with managers to support performance management, including drafting corrective actions as needed.
  • Schedule regular check-ins and track completion, ensuring ongoing feedback and leadership collaboration toward professional goals.
  • Maintain accurate employee records in ADP Workforce Now.
  • Process employee changes such as hires, terminations, and status updates.
  • Support timekeeping review and payroll coordination.
  • Ensure compliance with company policies and applicable employment laws.
  • Assist with audits, reporting, and documentation.
  • Administer benefits programs and serve as the employee point of contact.
  • Lead the annual open enrollment process.
  • Manage leaves of absence and track required documentation.
  • Coordinate with vendors and ensure timely communication.
  • Support safety program administration and compliance tracking.
  • Coordinate required trainings and maintain records.
  • Assist with PPE and safety supply oversight.
  • Support internal communications to raise workforce awareness.
  • Promote company programs such as health and wellness and EAP.
  • Help reinforce a positive workplace culture.
  • Represent Eagle at job fairs and community events.
  • Build relationships with local schools and workforce development partners.
  • Support initiatives that enhance the employer brand in the community.
  • Identify and coordinate Eagle Cares community support activities.
  • Participate in HR projects and process improvements.
  • Identify opportunities to improve efficiency and the employee experience.
  • Ensure all company food safety and quality assurance procedures are followed, escalating issues to management as needed.
  • Perform other related duties as assigned.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent (GED).
  • Minimum of two years of relevant HR experience.
  • Experience supporting multiple HR functions, including talent acquisition and employee relations.
  • Basic PC skills (word processing, spreadsheets, email) with the ability to learn new software quickly.
  • Understanding of HR policies, procedures, and applicable laws and regulations.
  • Strong integrity with the ability to maintain confidential information.
  • Sense of urgency with thorough, responsive, and professional performance; proactive when possible.
  • Effective time management and the ability to work independently and stay productive.
  • Professional proficiency in written and spoken English; capable of communicating with a diverse audience.
  • Strong decision-making and problem-solving abilities.
  • Excellent attention to detail, critical thinking, and organizational skills.
  • Solid work ethic and a willingness to learn.

  • Medical Insurance — available from the first of the month after 60 days, with choices among 1 PPO/HRA plan and 2 PPO/HSA plans through BlueCross BlueShield of Illinois; Illinois-based employees may also enroll in an HMO/HRA plan.

  • Vacation / PTO — starting point of 80 hours per year (2 weeks), accruing at 1.538 hours per week, increasing with tenure.
  • 8 Company Paid Holidays — eligible after 60 days of employment.
  • Sick Leave — paid sick days at 3 days (24 hours) per year after six months of service, prorated for the calendar year.
  • Tuition Reimbursement — eligible after six months for courses, certifications, and training that support Eagle careers.
